- Why does the same tumbleweed cost twenty-three dollars here and four dollars elsewhere?
- Because this one is invoiced. An invoice costs money to prepare, and the four-dollar outfit does not prepare one. The tumbleweed is identical and does not read either.
- What is on the invoice?
- One line: registered agent, one state, one year. Below it, handling. Below that, nothing, itemized.
- Where is the company at present?
- Per the wind log, in transit within the state. The log is updated when the fence is contacted. Contact is intermittent.
- How is mail processed?
- Received at whatever address the log shows, logged as a handling event, and forwarded by prevailing wind at the base rate. Arrival is not a billable event and is therefore not tracked.
- What happens if the company is served with a lawsuit?
- The service event is logged. The state's rule for a company with nobody home then applies, and that rule is quoted on the Wyoming page in full, at no charge.
- Why is the rate card limited to Wyoming?
- The wind log has never recorded a crossing. Rates for other states would require a survey we have not budgeted.
- Can I dispute a charge?
- Disputes are received at the address on the log and are forwarded by wind to the accounts department, which is also on the log. Resolution follows the same route.
- Is there a person in accounts?
- There is a mailbox in accounts. Whether there is a person depends on the calm day schedule, which is published nowhere.
- What is the maximum payable under a claim?
- The fees paid in the three months preceding the event, which is $5.75 at the current rate. That figure is also subject to wind.

- Will the rate change?
- The rate card is printed. Reprinting is a capital expense. The rate stays until the card blows away, and then it stays anyway.
- Can the company terminate my account?
- At any time, for any reason or none, without notice and without refund. Termination is logged. You are not.
- How is this itemized?
- Registered agent: one state, one year. Handling: included. Wind: not billable. Total: twenty-three dollars. Thank you for your query.
